Housing an extensive collection of classics, recreational reading, reference materials
on almost every subject, periodicals and recordings, the library has been a place for
all La Jolla residents to learn and grow. Generations have enjoyed story hours,
fascinating children's programs, lectures, seminars and a variety of cultural events.
In 1988 La Jolla proudly dedicated the 10,000 square foot Florence Riford Library on
Draper Avenue, which reflects a traditional style of light-colored stucco walls and
a red tile roof. Continuing its eighty-nine-year tradition, the La Jolla Library serves
future generations as a vital cultural and educational center.
