The Gillispie School has an enrollment of approximately 300 students. It is a co-educational independent day school accepting students from kindergarten through sixth grade. The school has a new campus located in the heart of La Jolla Village. The campus includes 14 classrooms, a technology lab, a science lab, an art center, a library and a gymnasium. Two playgrounds provide areas for physical education and recreation.

The Gillispie School is accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools and by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is a non-profit institution.
