Approximately 390 students are enrolled in the K-5 program at La Jolla Torrey Pines Elementary School. Located on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this school is in the most northern part of La Jolla. It is near the University of California at San Diego which provides some collaboration with Torrey Pines Elementary.

The school's comprehensive curriculum provides 3 hours a day exploring literature, reading at appropriate levels, and developing writing skills. The mathematics program composes a daily one hour block. Science, social studies, music, art, and physical education are also included in the curriculum. Torrey Pines Elementary School has consistently ranked in the top 20% of the schools throughout the state.
